Human Resources Services provides a variety of HR-related services to employees and managers:

Employee Relations |
- Help supervisors and staff members work through employment performance issues
- Provide clarifying information on university human resources policies
- Help staff members who are exploring job opportunities on campus develop an effective resume or job search strategies
- Offer options to supervisors and employees to resolve a variety of situations

Employment Recruitment |
- Prescreen applicant credentials and/or interview candidates, as requested by hiring supervisor
- Send personalized acknowledgement letter to all applicants submitting their materials to Human Resources
- Provide testing on a variety of software packages (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) and assess general clerical skills (data entry, proofreading, typing)
- Offer assistance in identifying sources of qualified applicants. Assist departments in their efforts to diversify the applicant pool
- Provide guidance to hiring supervisors regarding their legal obligations during the recruitment process
- Provide guidance to develop a Strategic Diversity Plan

Learning and Development |
- Coordinate development programs to help employees and supervisors develop personally and professionally
- Identify new or tailor existing training programs to meet departments' special training needs
- Help supervisors plan for organizational change in their departments
- Facilitate implementation of the Partnering for Performance philosophy

Classification and Compensation |
- Provide information to supervisors and staff members about job classifications and salaries
- Lead departments through job reclassifications and salary reviews as needed
|
|
Temporary Employment Service |
- Provide qualified temporary office support staff
- Coordinate payroll and other administrative details
