Learning and Development Programs
Carnegie Mellon values the satisfaction, growth and development of its employees. We provide a wide range of resources to help employees manage their careers, achieve success, and balance their home and professional life.
Learning and Development seminars are offered throughout the year, and cover a variety of topics to help you build your career and workplace skills. Human Resources has also teamed up with Computing Services to provide access to free or inexpensive software training classes. In addition to free programs and seminars, Carnegie Mellon makes available a wide range of training programs or materials.

These seminars help you assess and expand upon your skills. Courses are offered for faculty and staff at all levels in the university, and focus on competencies that develop one's leadership skills, regardless of position. Other courses support your professional skills and personal development. Courses generally last 1.5 - 3 hours and offer practical tips and methods for improvement. Courses are offered at no cost to employees. |

The National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) offers videotaped programs and webcasts through Human Resources. In addition, the Research Administration Council offers seminars that address issues faced by research units. |

Oracle Financials and Procurement Training |

These seminars provide hands-on training with the Oracle Financial System, from the basics of the system to special attention on budget management, purchasing, requisitioning, or other topics. In addition, Procurement Card and Buyer Introductory Training seminars are provided. |

These training classes are held in a computer cluster and offer individuals the opportunity to learn software fundamentals and advanced features. |
