Partnering for Performance
The Partnering for Performance philosophy links individual job performance to the attainment of Carnegie Mellon's vision, mission and goals. Partnering for Performance is a continuous process that involves managers and employees in the identification and evaluation of key job performance objectives and competencies that contribute to the achievement of organizational goals. When managers take the time to provide adequate support for employees, they are laying a foundation for stronger achievement as well as just fulfilling their job description.
LifeWorks Management Line
LifeWorks, our employee assistance program, has a service called the Management
Line that can assist you when dealing with sensitive and difficult workplace
issues. You can obtain free consultation or can refer your staff if they are
experiencing problems at work or home.
Human Resource Managers
Your HR Manager is another great resource for you in deciding how to handle problems in the workplace. They can provide guidance and help you understand the official university policies and procedures in this area. Be sure to contact your HR Manager if you plan to take any official employment action from a letter of reprimand or poor performance review, to a demotion or layoff.
