Checking References

Before making a final offer of employment, you should obtain references on the candidate. Make sure you follow the Reference Guidelines (.pdf) when contacting references.

Act 33 of 1985, Amendments to Child Protective Services Law, requires child care services to obtain reports of child abuse and criminal history record (.pdf) information for prospective employees.

Contact your HR Representative for guidance on which positions require a background check or pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, in addition to employment references.
