University Documentation Requirements Within the Employment Process

Carnegie Mellon is required to collect race and gender data on all persons interviewed for employment at the university. This is done to ensure that the univeristy's non-discriminatory policy is carried out and for compliance purposes. The Talent Management System has eliminated much of the cumbersome documentation collection. However, all hiring managers should enter this data as appropriate in the Recruiting module of TMS. The following documentation must be completed/collected

  • All applicant letters, resumes and applications must be submitted through Careers@CarnegieMellon. If these materials are received by mail sent directly to the department, the applicant should be directed to apply online.
  • Original offer letters initialed/signed by new employee should also be retained.

It is your responsibility to complete all hiring documnetation in the TMS system. This data will be used should any legal action be taken or upon audit by the Department of Defense, or could be subject to third party review.
