The HR Learning and Development team provides training and documentation support for many IT systems used campus-wide, including:

Oracle 11i Financials System / DecisionCast

Financial Management Project web page

Oracle 11i Applications are a suite of integrated financial software modules that are used as Carnegie Mellon’s system of record for all university accounting activities, capturing financial transactions for record-keeping, analysis, and financial management and reporting. The Core Oracle Modules include: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Labor Distribution, and Grants Accounting. The self-service applications include: Internet Expenses - Expense Reports and Procurement Card.

The Financials Data Warehouse receives a nightly upload of data from the Oracles Financials System. This financial data (which goes back to July 1999) can be accessed by the DecisionCast end user tool. DecisionCast allows authorized users to tap into their Oracle Financials data by running reports and queries created by the Financials Systems Team.

Human Resources Employee Module (HREM) is the front-end interface that is used to enter a newly-hired individual's appointment, biographic and demographic information into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). All university-paid faculty, staff and student employees (graduate and undergraduate) have records in HRIS, as do courtesy employees. (Courtesy employees have some affiliation with the university but are not paid.)

The HR Data Warehouse is a permanent repository for employee and appointment data. It is designed for query performance, ease of accessibility, and security. The Warehouse receives a nightly upload of data from HRIS. Current data can be accessed by the Oracle Discoverer end user tool.
