Dental Coverage Options



United Concordia Companies, Inc. (UCCI), a subsidiary of Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield, is the administrator of our dental program. Dental coverage is available to full-time, benefits-eligible faculty and staff. Your dental plan selection is a two year election. The election you make during the 2008 Open Enrollment will be in effect through December 31, 2009, unless you experience a life/family status change.

Our dental options include two dental PPOs (ConcordiaFLEX plans) and a dental HMO (a ConcordiaPLUS plan). To access services, present your United Concordia ID Card to your dentist. There is no special claim form; your dentist should use a standard American Dental Association claim form.

Smile for Health - Keeping Your Mouth and Your Body Healthier
The Smile for Health (.pdf) program, which is a part of the dental PPO options, provides coverage for dental services that help contribute to better overall health, including a maternity dental benefit and an enhanced dental benefit that provides for oral disease detection and prevention.
