Insurance Benefits
Carnegie Mellon provides a comprehensive package of insurance benefits for our eligible full-time faculty and staff or their dependents that provide protection/coverage in a variety of circumstances. These benefits are selected annually during the Open Enrollment period. Part-Time and Non-Benefits-Eligible Benefits
Part-time benefits-eligible and non-benefits-eligible employees receive different benefits than full-time benefits-eligible faculty and staff. Review the requirements to determine which part-time benefits you are eligible to receive. Local 95, International and Retired Employees
There are different coverage plans for other types of employees.
- Local 95 IUOE-represented employees are eligible for coverage under the Union Local 95 plan.
- Employees of Carnegie Mellon Qatar Campus are eligible for coverage under our International Benefits Plan.
- Retired employees of Carnegie Mellon are eligible for medical coverage under our Retiree Medical Plan.
HR Connection: Employee Self-Service System
Employees can use HR Connection to change their benefit elections without having to make an appointment with a Benefits Specialist. Employees may only modify their insurance benefits and reimbursement accounts during the annual Open Enrollment or within 31 days of a qualified life or family status change.
