If a retiree who is receiving coverage under these terms dies, the surviving spouse may continue coverage under these terms on the same basis that the retiree could have continued them if the retiree had not died.
Carnegie Mellon also offers Pittsburgh-area retirees and their spouses the opportunity to elect a Medicare HMO as an alternative to Major Medical and any supplemental coverage.
